The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute of being a student of The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was impossible to take enough pleasure from it. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. During her time in Italy she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary point of view. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as speaker and mentor. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to be in a position to be able to share this love of the food industry with people.
